So I've been drivin atvs all my life, but haven't had one the last few years. I had three Hondas and one Yamaha. Every bike was pretty much bulletproof. Would love to own a Polaris, but am so used to hearing that they are so unreliable. Sometimes I think there are just to many hard core Honda guys around here (Cape Breton) that no one will try sometin different. I person ally think, every manufacturer is on par and they all have issues. Waynor, how has the 700 been for you? How are the Polaris holding up? Is Village Autobody a good dealer? |

Polaris' are unreliable. Plus they are extremely heavy and totally useless in the swamps around here. I would stay away from them. A lot of problems with the front diff gernading, the belt slipping because its not a constant tension belt like all the others, plastic meling, frames breaking, and the list goes on. |

I'd say he is a tad hard on it from what I've seen, but not really any harder than I am on mine. The front differential has a plastic cage inside of it that grenades? I'm not too sure, its extremely common, I stay away from them for the most part, so my Polaris knowledge isn't quite up to snuff. |

first off i would like to post in on this since i own one. 1. The cage is not that weak in the front dif its changed on the new bikes 06 and up iv herd of no issues with them. Reason i broke mine (twice) was becase i didnt know that when on ice if spinning the tires at a fast speed and putting it in awd it could and would break the cage. 2. Iv broke 1 axle and that. I cant say for sure how i did that but I was doing water wheelies in a lake full of big rocks, and when i came out i noticed something was wrong. 3. Motor mount, ahahah well thats my fault, if the bikes not hitting jumps its doing wheelies and its hard on any bike. 4. Plastice iv never seen melt and mines been hot. 5. I find mine good in mud. For the most part of mud riding i did with stock tires. I find the weight helps sometimes, sometimes it doesnt but some times it does. 6. I did break the front box. But what would happen to a honda or a kawi or any other bike if you hit a Phone Poll at 30mph, and i got a big bumper on mine. Im sure your bikes wouldnt look any Dif then mine did. Over all i love my bike, anything that has happen to it has been 100% my fault but thank god for a good warrenty. I drive my bike harder then anyone i believe on this site, argue if you wish, but im just nuts. Im not saying Polaris is the best because i ride it but i like it for what i do with it. If you ride your bike hard no matter what bike it is you are going to break stuff. Sams had his hard times and hes got a Brute. I believe the best ATV out there, but that bikes got its ups an downs to. Scott, i guess your Hondas bullet proof? give er to me for a few weeks, hahaha John, well he will never break anything, he dont drive it and when he does, haha its not as hard as me or sam (but thats cuz he aint stupid like us) or well he just doesnt wanna see things break. Bottom line is all bikes have there ups and downs. honda guys will alwas say every bike sucks but a honda and thats all there is to it. Me i like Polaris and the Brutes, not a fan of the hondas there behind the times. I dont know mucha bout the others, Can am, well they are over hyped and got no protections on them at all. If you are looking for Bike you have to ask your self what you want to use this bike for. Whats your riding type. Are you going to be doing lots of mods. Things like that and then get on the dif forums, read reviews and what not. IMO My next bike, if the EFI works well will be a 09 Brute force (size depending on if they go bigger) If the EFI doesnt work out so well, Polaris again (witch ill always buy for years to come.) Thats my 13cents ya fuckers. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha |
