What are your thoughts on the safety training that is becoming manditory for all of us and will you get it? |

As far as my opinion, for me having to sit there and take a course I think it is BS.. but it is a good thing to have, I mean, how many safety courses are pointless? Safety is one thing you can never have too much of. |

well funny you should post this a day after i had a chat with my Dad about this very topic. he told to give John Nickelo a call @ 849-2072 and book a time to do the course. So i did, next next Sunday, the 24th. its about 2hours long and $75 for non atv club members. Persons under 16 have to be with a parent. If you need anymore info, dont be shy to give him a call, very nice guy. i really cant see any disavantage to spending a sunday afternoon learning a few tips. Chris |

I will take the training when they make me, until then I wont take it. I still don't have insurance. I don't think I need it, but it would only help. |

You could also call my father, Louis MacDonald, for the training. He also has the only riding trails in Cape Breton which are also approved by the government. |

uthis is gettin retarted 4 wheeling is gettin like driving a car wit the insurance nd courses i miss the days where u can hop on and go witout worryin about bein pulled over on trails |

I agree on the course if your totally new to the sport and you just bought a 500 or 700 cc plus machine.I started out on a small 330 2wd and learned alot. Still you can get hurt just as easy on a small atv as a large one but the dif in my opinion is that you will have a better chance to live to talk about it. My quad is not for the inexperienced it is very dangerous even to me some times.The torque in low range in these machines is just retard, I love emm. I have seen people with too much machine too early and I was glad that I was behind. I hate all the regulations and bullshit but I also believe that we made our own mess and now we have to deal with it. I too was raised with the mentallitty of hopen on the bike and go rippen all over god`s creation.The sport has evolved so much now that you need a trailer or a truck when you buy a quad.Trailer to your site, with your buds ride out into the middle of the woods, bring out what you brought in and have a great time.Whats so hard about that?? You don`t have to go rippen through the neighborhoods like the old days to have fun and now people just aren`t putting up with it . I still love the sport and the government will never take my fun away no matter what ; so in closing ride safe, ride hard but most of all take responsability for your actions. |

sunday afternoon wasent bad at all. about 2hours it took. just went over the basics, puttin your body into a turn was what he stressed the most. Learned how to do a K-turn on a hill, pretty cool probley never use it in real life but good to know. at the end of course i got a card to stick in my insurance papers that says i completed it. its good for all over Canada. Chris It only took you about 2 hours for the course..? It is supposed to be a lot longer according to the Canadian Safety Council.
